Freyr is the primary God of the Vanir, and brother of Freyja, who both command fertility, whose common modern name is actually the title of "Lord" (in the sense of "sir," as opposed to English lordship). The Old English counterpart to this title/name is Frēa, and an alternate Anglo-Saxon name for Him is Ing. Freyr's symbol is the boar.
It is said that the Swedish Yngling royal dynasty is descended from Him, as well as the historical Germanic tribal groups of the Ingvaeones being named for Him. The Anglo-Saxon runestave ᛝ bears the name Ing.
